Kingdom Hearts Celebrates 90 Years of Mickey Mouse
Mickey Mouse is perhaps the most recognizable character in the world, as indeed he should be. Not only is he the mascot for the single largest entertainment company in the world, but he’s also been around for ninety years now. He’s been around long enough for multiple generations of people to have grown up with him in their live. It’s kind of amazing, actually. He’s primarily been a small player in the world of video games, but there’s an exception to that.

Nier: Automata and PS4 Dominate Japanese Sales
Nier: Automata leads the software chart this week in Japan, beating most predictions and achieving one of the bigger debuts of the year so far, even surpassing the numbers of Resident Evil 7. The various new game releases give PlayStation 4 a boost in sales, which also benefits from the launch of the new Glacier White model.
In the week before the launch of Nintendo Switch, Sony has made sure to get advantage ofthe lack of any significant home console competition.
Nintendo Wii U will be region-locked
According to recent reports and subsequent confirmation by Nintendo, their upcoming Wii U console will be region-locked. The latest issue of Famitsu reported of Nintendo’s plans to lock software to specific regions, and that means that Nintendo fans looking to play imported titles will have tough luck with the Wii U. This should come as no surprise to loyal Nintendo customers. Both the Wii and the 3DS have this same functionality built into the platforms and it would likely make a dent in the import market for territories outside of Japan.
Pokemon Go Update 1.0.3 Fixes Almost Nothing, Crashes Servers
The latest Pokemon Go update has been released, with version 1.0.3 hitting the Apple App Store and 0.29.3 arriving on Google Play. The patch notes don’t tell much, simply saying the update fixes “minor text files”. This has been utterly disappointing to players of the game who have been dealing with glitches, bugs, freezes, and server crashes for over a week.
In fact, with the release of the update the Pokemon Go servers went down almost immediately.
The Ascent: How to Fast Travel
One of the first things I was looking for in The Ascent, was how to fast travel between areas. Why you may ask, and the reason is simple. The Ascent’s cyberpunk world is actually quite big, and not only that, but you can easily lost into it very early into the game. There are quite a few areas open, the moment you begin your journey, many of them being for a higher level character, and it was simply beautiful to just run around, seeing what surprises the next district will have for more.

One commonality that all Bioware games share, no matter the setting or even the year the game was made, has been the ability to play as different classes, and Dragon Age: Inquisistion is no different, if the updated website is anything to go by.
According to the website, there are 3 classes in Dragon Age: Inquisistion, the warrior, the mage and the rogue. Each class will have its own unique set of equipment, abilities and class-reactive story content.

Fortnite still continues to be one of the biggest games in the entire industry with no real signs of slowing down. The game is not only keeping players around, but also introducing new players to the game all the time with new events and content to grab their attention, such as the recent Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker event. Most games with a variety of characters have you create one at the beginning, but Fortnite takes a different approach.

IOS Spotlight: Kairosoft
If the wind keeps blowing the way that it is currently, it will not be long until the Android and IOS marketplace completely pulls Nintendo from the throne of portable gaming that they are so desperately clinging onto. Third party support for devices such as iPhone and iPad certainly is not lacking, especially when compared to the woeful selection available on the Wii U. For the IOS market in particular, it costs a pittance to produce a title whilst the reach of the app store is near limitless.
