EA and Visceral Games have recently announced that the Community Test Environment feature, that they used to balance Battlefield 4, is now available for the PC version of Battlefield Hardline.
The Battlefield Hardline Community Test Environment, or CTE for short, is “to test fixes for gameplay, fine-tune balancing, and try out upcoming content before it gets into the game.” The CTE allows dedicated fans of the game to work with the developers to improve the game, while getting the opportunity to see some new content first.
Although only available for PC the Community Test Environment is aimed at making some improvements on all platforms. EA has commented on the matter; “This community program will be playable on PC only. However, the goal is for our learnings to benefit all platforms when possible.” The first goal for the CTE is to improve the Netcode for the Downtown map, something which should be able to help all platforms of the game.
To be able to access the CTE you will need to be a Battlefield Hardline Premium member on PC or either console. If you tick this box follow these steps, as stated by EA:
