Falout-4-Dialogue

While Fallout 4 was a game that many people loved when it launched last year, just about everyone can agree that the game’s new dialogue wheel was a little crappy. All conversations allowed you to answer with 4 options, and their descriptions were very brief and rarely gave a proper preview of what the character would actually say. Don’t even get me started on the “sarcastic” option.

However, it looks like Bethesda agrees with what everyone else has been saying about the dialogue wheel, too. Fallout 4’s director, Todd Howard, recently did an interview with GameSpot during E3 where he mentioned trying new things with the game that don’t always work out. He said the following:

“I think our fans are used to it over time, that we do like to try new things. And we’ll have some successes, you know I think the shooting in Fallout 4 is really good, I think it plays really well. Obviously, the way we did some dialogue stuff, that didn’t work as well. But it was I think — I know the reasons we tried that, to make a nice interactive conversation, but less successful than other things in the game. For us, we take that feedback, and I think long term.”

Despite some criticisms, Fallout 4 has been enjoyed by many people and has been regularly getting new content in the form of DLC. The last DLC was called Far Harbor, which launched last month on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
