Remember the Fallout 4 console mods that were touted so heavily at last year’s E3? Well it appears that they will finally be arriving on the Xbox One in May and PlayStation 4 this June. Both Bethesda’s Twitter account and their blog confirm the news.
We have a lot to do yet, but we hope it changes console gaming the way it has changed PC
“For console players, Mods will be coming to Xbox One in May and PlayStation 4 in June. We have a lot to do yet, but we hope it changes console gaming the way it has changed PC,” reads a quote from BGS.
While Xbox One owners will get a short headstart on mods for Fallout 4 on consoles, it’s unclear just how robust these tools will be and how they will work. In this same announcement, they do claim that console mods will provide ‘endless possibilities.’
While there are plenty of details about the Creation Kit tools for Fallout 4 for PC, we’ll have to wait and see if the functionality is similar to what is found on Steam. An open beta for Fallout 4 mods begins today for PC players, who can download the tools via the Bethesda.net launcher. There is also an extensive Wiki for the Creation Kit tools for how to get started with modding Fallout 4.
