Reports this morning suggest that Microsoft is giving away the full version of Killer Instinct, the free-to-play title on the Xbox One, to select Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Emails going out to these subscribers thank them for their “dedication to Xbox” and that they would be receiving the full version of the game on November 22nd.
The first reports of the promotion come from NeoGAF, where a couple of members claim to have gotten the email.
Right now it’s unclear what this is tied to. Whether its a pre-order thing, an Xbox Rewards thing, or just dumb luck, some people will be getting the full version of Killer Instinct for free.
The Xbox One launches on November 22nd with Killer Instinct as free-to-play fighter on the console. If you don’t get the freebie from Microsoft, you’ll have to pay up for the additional characters.
