Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania has something a bit more unique than its previous, original, and non-HD counterparts. In this game, you can actually customize characters. Character customization in today’s video games adds a layer of personalization.
It’s something a lot of people from all levels of skill could appreciate in games. It’s an option that won’t hurt to have, but it’ll definitely be welcomed to those who like to delve into it. Super Monkey Ball having customization is somewhat of an interesting title to have something like this in, given how vibrant and fast-paced everything is already. Here is how you can customize your characters’ looks in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.
How to customize characters in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania
You’ll need to know a few things before outright customizing characters in this game. First off, only the six base characters can have cosmetics applied to them. The following characters are the only ones who can be customized.
- AiAi
- MeeMee
- Baby
- GonGon
- YanYan
- Doctor
Yes, it’s a bit of a bummer that you can’t give shades or a funny hat to Kazuma Kiryu or put a demon mask on Sonic or Tails. This also means you can’t customize characters with alternate outfits like C. AiAi or W. Meemee. Then again, they are the base characters with preset outfits. It wouldn’t make sense for C. AiAi, who is AiAi with a pirate outfit, to be stripped of that identity.
How to obtain more outfits for characters
When you start the game fresh off, you won’t have anything to customize your characters with. You’ll have to play the game first. Don’t worry, if you manage to complete at least the first world of the Story Mode without using the helper function, you’ll have more than enough points to spend for new cosmetics.
Once you’ve amassed a comfortable amount of points, make your way to the Point Shop where you’ll find various categories of things to spend your points on. For customizations, you’ll see options like Customize – Head/Body/Legs/Ball. Pick any one of those that you like. For the amount of points you spend on each category of customization, it’d be close to that of a value of a new character!
Also, every cosmetic item across the board costs 1,000 points. In the grand scheme of things, it’s not a lot to grind out for. Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania grants you a generous amount of points quickly by naturally playing the game. It’ll also reward you more points based on how many bananas you collect per level. Completing challenges will also make this easier.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania will be out on October 5, 2021. For players who buy the Digital Deluxe Edition, it’ll be available starting on October 1. This game will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, and PC via Steam. You can check out more content by clicking here.
