Level-5 has officially revealed the platform of Yo-kai Watch Busters 2, with the spin-off series staying on Nintendo 3DS for at least one more entry. Titled Yo-kai Watch Busters 2: Treasure Legend Banbaraya, the game is set on Karakuri Island, a place filled with Yo-kai, and where it is said to be hidden the treasure of a pirate king. The company has also put up a Japanese website with more information, although we still don’t have any gameplay footage.
A spin-off from the main Yo-kai Watch series, Busters allows four players to team up an fight Yo-kai bosses. While two games of the main series have launched in North America and Europe, the release of the first Yo-kai Watch Busters is still pending.
Yo-kai Watch is an RPG series inspired in the Pokemon formula, with the creatures of the Level-5 creation being based on the traditional Japanese folklore. At this moment the nearest release in the West is Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters in September 29, which expands on the content of the previous versions Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls.
